Wow – where has the time gone? I have had a busy time since my last post. Thankfully, things have been going better!

We had a wonderful Easter dinner with turkey and all the trimmings! It was delicious even if I do have to say so myself, although judging by the amount everyone ate, I am guessing they thought it delish as well. My son was a bit of a knob that day, but I will put it down to school stress.

I had a great visit with my niece and brother-in-law. My niece is just so cute! She didn’t even mind going shopping with her old auntie. We had lots of laughs and she had a successful day of shopping. It was too short, but at least we did get to spend some time together. My BIL had some meetings he was here for but after business was done we got to spend some time with him as well. It was nice to have a chance to chat with him, as usually my sister and I do all the talking and he just sits there and listens. Anybody who has ever tried to get a word in edgewise between two sisters knows how difficult that actually is. We can TALK! Their visit was over all too soon, but we will be seeing them in July, which really isn’t too far away.

I got my windshield fixed and the world does look better without a big crack across the middle! I didn’t really think it bothered my line of vision, but it obviously did.

My class has finished their practicums now, and some of them even got offered jobs right away. I heard from a couple of them today that got job interviews this week, so they are pretty excited. We are going for an end of the year lunch on Thursday so they can catch me up on all their news. I am looking forward to seeing all of them. I miss my students! However, the good thing is in a couple of weeks they will be colleagues instead! Now – that’s exciting!

Eight days until we leave for California! Wow – it has come so quickly! I think I am mostly organized. All the errands have been run and supplies ordered. Someone asked me the other day if I had to take a lot of stuff for Donna when we go on a trip. Seriously – you have NO idea. The organization it takes is unbelievable and I have to be prepared for every scenario as once we leave here, I just can’t go into a store and buy the things she needs. I also have to take supplies for an extra week, just in case something happens and we can’t get home. So yes – I do have to take a lot of “stuff” for Donna. The planning is done, now I just have to get it all packed up.

In hockey news (I heard those groans) all my teams are doing splendidly. Canucks up over St. Louis 2 games, Pens beating the Flyers by 2 as well and Duckies have 1 over the Sharks and play again tonight! All is well on the western front….well and the eastern front. I love playoffs!!! Go teams!

I am getting my car serviced on Monday, which fingers crossed will just be usual maintenance. I pick up my income tax this afternoon, which by all accounts has turned out not too badly. These are the last of my big errands and then we will be off and down the I5 for three long days of driving. Can’t wait!
